How to Practice Subnetting:
- Click on the [New IPv4 Address] Button:
- This will generate a random Target IP Address and CIDR (subnet mask).
- You will need to calculate the following attributes based on the given Target IP and CIDR:
- Network Address
- First Host
- Last Host
- Broadcast Address
- Next Subnet
- Enter Your Calculated Answers:
- In the table, there are fields where you can input your answers for each attribute.
- Use the provided input boxes for Network, First Host, Last Host, Broadcast, and Next Subnet.
- Click [Check] to Verify Your Answer:
- After entering your answers, click the [Check] button to see if your calculations are correct.
- If your answer is correct, you will see a “YES” in the Correct? column.
- If your answer is incorrect, you will see a “NO”.
- Click [Show] to View the Correct Answer:
- If you are unsure or want to see the correct answer, click the [Show] button next to each row.

- Check or Show All::
- At the bottom of the table, you can click [Check All] to check all of your answers at once.
- You can also click [Show All] to display all the correct answers for every field.
Tips for Subnetting Practice:
- Start with a lower CIDR value (e.g.,
/24
or/25
) to practice smaller subnets if you are new to subnetting. - Use the [Check] button frequently as you work through each field to verify your calculations before moving to the next.
- Familiarize yourself with key subnetting formulas and techniques, such as calculating the network address, first host, last host, and broadcast address.
Happy subnetting!
