How to Practice Subnetting:

  1. Click on the [New IPv4 Address] Button:
  • This will generate a random Target IP Address and CIDR (subnet mask).
  • You will need to calculate the following attributes based on the given Target IP and CIDR:
    • Network Address
    • First Host
    • Last Host
    • Broadcast Address
    • Next Subnet
  1. Enter Your Calculated Answers:
  • In the table, there are fields where you can input your answers for each attribute.
  • Use the provided input boxes for Network, First Host, Last Host, Broadcast, and Next Subnet.
  1. Click [Check] to Verify Your Answer:
  • After entering your answers, click the [Check] button to see if your calculations are correct.
  • If your answer is correct, you will see a “YES” in the Correct? column.
  • If your answer is incorrect, you will see a “NO”.
  1. Click [Show] to View the Correct Answer:
  • If you are unsure or want to see the correct answer, click the [Show] button next to each row.
  • The correct answer will appear in the Answer column.
  1. Check or Show All::
  • At the bottom of the table, you can click [Check All] to check all of your answers at once.
  • You can also click [Show All] to display all the correct answers for every field.

Tips for Subnetting Practice:

  • Start with a lower CIDR value (e.g., /24 or /25) to practice smaller subnets if you are new to subnetting.
  • Use the [Check] button frequently as you work through each field to verify your calculations before moving to the next.
  • Familiarize yourself with key subnetting formulas and techniques, such as calculating the network address, first host, last host, and broadcast address.

Happy subnetting!
